Guide to Microscopes and Microanalysis

About micro*scope

micro*scope is a well organized communal web site that promotes the awareness of microbes. The site offers over 10,000 attractive and informative images complete with organism descriptions. The content is available for educational purposes and other non-commercial uses.

The site is easy to use and offers four browsing options to locate organisms. Browse by taxonomic structure, habitat, geography, or by name or use one of the three search options. The classification scheme draws its content from the associated uBio project.

The site acts as a portal not only to its own content, but also to information at hundreds of linked sites. It is complemented by the Microbial Life web site a digital library for resources about the evolution, diversity and ecology of microbes.
